We made this FAQ to answer common questions that we receive during our advocacy.

Do you really want to repeal the 2nd amendment?

Not entirely true, while we do use the hashtag #repeal2A rather frequently, we are in fact strong supporters of the Constitution and the right to bear arms for the purpose of hunting, sporting events, and defending the nation from foreign threats, like Russia and its colluding local presence. What we really mean is that the second amendment should be repealed and REPLACED so that its clear intent is no longer misinterpreted by judges who are in the pocket of the gun lobby. The second amendment should be changed to read:

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, when serving in the National Guard, with ultimate respect to every citizens right to be free from gun violence, this shall not be infringed.”

why do you say that gun ownership is racist?

This is a statistically proven fact that has been featured in a peer reviewed study and published in a reputable scientific journal. The study found that:

“After accounting for all explanatory variables, logistic regressions found that for each 1 point increase in symbolic racism there was a 50% increase in the odds of having a gun at home. After also accounting for having a gun in the home, there was still a 28% increase in support for permits to carry concealed handguns, for each one point increase in symbolic racism. The relationship between symbolic racism and opposition to banning handguns in the home (OR1.27 CI 1.03,1.58) was reduced to non-significant after accounting for having a gun in the home (OR1.17 CI.94,1.46), which likely represents self-interest in retaining property (guns).”
A link to that study and its findings is here.
Gun ownership is unequivocally statistically tied to being a racist.

What is an assault weapon and why do you want to ban them?

Put simply, an assault weapon is any gun that’s main purpose in design was to use as a weapon of war by the military, or any weapon which mimics those weapons which were designed for use in military service. We are surprised at how often we get this question as it really is just common sense that no one, apart from the military, should have access to military grade weaponry. These weapons put too much power into the hands of potentially crazy individuals and allow for the types of mass murders that have been so prevalent in the United States.

Why are you so dedicated to preventing gun violence?

Jacob, our founder, is committed to making a difference and saving lives. He believes in the nobility of this cause and has put himself out there, subjected himself to attacks by the gun lobby and its supporters, received many threats, and risked his very being to see this goal accomplished. We believe in what we are doing, because we know it is the right thing to do. Our children deserve not only free schooling, but to be free from being shot by a gun while attending.

you seem to offend a lot of gun owners, why?

EVERYONE should be offended by those that allow children to be murdered at school, NO ONE should be offended by those that want to save lives.

Gun owners seem to want to live in a delusional state brought about by their constant exposure to the gun lobby and its incessant messaging and purchasing of public figures. We speak the truth, if the truth offends gun owners, well, that doesn’t mean we should quit speaking it, but that they should start listening to it. If you are offended by common sense, perhaps you should spend more time thinking and less time promoting the death of children.

If a gun owner is offended by us, it means we are doing something right.

how can i help end gun violence?

Get involved any way you can. EDUCATION EDUCATION EDUCATION. We need to teach the gun lobby that we will not be bullied. Take a stand, speak the truth, and don’t be intimated.

We currently have set up for you to be able to help us rid our local community of people who are making guns easily available and creating a dangerous situation. To sign the petition and send a message to the local gun industry that you wont be bullied any more, click here: http://resistgunviolence.com/get-involved/

We will be planning other protests, petitions, and many other social events in the future where you can get involved to help bring about radical change by instituting what we all know is just common sense.

Why wont gun owners just give up their guns to save lives?

We do not know the answer to this question. It seems they care more about their toys than they do about their neighbors.
